A DUO FOR LIFE

 

Duo Orpheus is currently composed by Francesca Romana Iorio (mezzosoprano) and Giovanni Cernicchiaro (guitarist, composer & conductor). They met in the Santa Cecilia Conservatory and now share their lives in music. With a fiftheen years long experience (concerts, venue, exibitions etc...) Orpheus Duo is able to create the right atmosphere performing music with high quality sound and style. Their repertoire is a broadband catalog of original voice and guitar music. From Porro to Britten passing through Giuliani, Garcia Lorca and Castelnuovo-Tedesco, they can fulfill every musical exigence. Elegance, grace and professionality complete the profile of THIS unic ENTERTAINMENT musical DUO. 

 

Francesca Romana Iorio studied with Elisabetta Majeron, Teresa Rocchino, Anna Vandi, Serenella Isidori & Gino Nappo. She has a versatile voice able to be dark, mellow and agile at same time. Her timbre and attention to dynamics and interpretation details, are amazing to sing Gluck, Verdi, Puccini as soon as chamber repertoire.

 

Giovanni Cernicchiaro is an expert guitaris (studied with Giuliano Balestra in the S. Cecilia Conservatory), composer (studied with Ivan Fedele, Teresa Procaccini, Massimo Gianfreda, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Gyorgy Ligeti and Salvatore Sciarrino) & conductor (choirs and other ensemble). The loudness and the beauty of his sound (He uses a 66,7 diapason guitar), the experience in playng with people and the attention to all the interpretation factors are the right elements to sustain the voice or the sound of a solo instruments.
